USGI M14 Wood Stocks, Birch Tiger Stripe
El Tigre! M14 M1A Birch Tiger Stripes!
While most birch stocks are fairly plain, there are a few with bold patterns generally referred to as "Tiger Stripe" because, well, that's what it looks like.
In their original finish, you might be able to see the pattern under the government dark stain - but in order for them to reach their potential you really need to strip and refinish them. The stock I'm using for the category example here has been refinished - this is NOT what you will receive.
These are graded VG to As New just like the rest of the military finish stocks. And I'm dividing the Tigers into 50% and Full Tiger (80%+) categories.
If an item shows out of stock, this means that I don't have any sorted and ready to sell. There are still some in the warehouse, and I'll activate the item again when I have some to ship.
R & R Stocks with no DoD stamp or "Circle P". Most are arsenal refinished, some are replacement stocks. The arsenal refinished stocks will probably have some sanding marks and the front swivel and front ferrules are usually painted black as opposed to a Parkerized finish. I grade these on the VG to Excellent Plus scale. Most birch stocks fall into this category as their production started late in the M14 production cycle and therefore were not on rifles when they were initially issued.
